TikToker and doctor Leonardo Gil has died following a hit-and-run incident while on his way home from the hospital where he works.
The doctor, 34, was driving home on his motorbike after finishing his shift at the hospital in Hialeah, Florida.
According to reports, a member of the public called 911 after noticing Gil in the aftermath of the crash. He was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries.

Speaking to WSVN, Gil's aunt, Katiuska Fernandez, said, 'The only thing that we know is the people left him on the street and left.'
His aunt added that the family had been left heartbroken by his death, saying, 'We are very sad because he was just 34 years old.'
She continued to add that Gil 'knew how to make people smile' and that 'whether he met you on the streets, or if you were one of his more than 90,000 TikTok followers, his goal was to brighten up your day. Everybody knows he's going to say something good'.

Following Gil's death, colleagues and fans have paid tribute.
Co-worker Shirley Martell said, 'My heart is simply broken... You were so much to so many….the smile and the face of our workplace. What a huge void we will all feel without your joy, energy, making us run for your long softball hits, and for being the best Grinch EVER!! Gone but not forgotten. RIP friend, you did good.'
A fan added on his TikTok, 'My broken heart sends my deepest condolences to the family and all those who were able to meet him.'

Gil reportedly started working at the hospital in Hialeah as a janitor after immigrating from Cuba around 10 years ago. He then worked as a porter, before going on to work as an endoscopy technician.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help with the costs of his funeral.
The description from the fundraiser reads, 'Everyone who met him loved him. He was always willing to help others. He was extremely dedicated and hardworking. This loss has left his family in disbelief and heartache. His sudden passing has created a void in the lives of everyone he knew. We are asking for help funding his funeral/memorial costs. Any help is greatly appreciated.'

So far, the fundraiser has collected $13,675 of its $30,000 goal.
