Fitness influencer speaks out after calling out man who went on 'disrespectful' rant at her for filming her workout

Fitness influencer speaks out after calling out man who went on 'disrespectful' rant at her for filming her workout

The TikToker was surprised her video got so much attention and has a message for those who weighed in on her recording

A TikToker has spoken out after sharing a recording of a man being rude to her at the gym.

Fitness influencer Em took to her page last month to share a video of herself doing a workout at a branch of O2 Fitness in North Carolina.

However, just as she got the recording going, she was interrupted.

Em - who goes by the username @emmysbakedbeans on the platform - took to TikTok to share the moment a man started commenting on what she was doing in the gym.

You can't see the man in the video, so without the volume it doesn't look like anything's wrong, but if you turn up the sound you can hear why Em suddenly gets up and walks away from one of the machines before she's barely even started her session.

In the recording, a raised voice can be heard saying: "Try spending more time working out. It'll help a lot more.

"Sitting there f**king video-taping yourself the whole time. It's stupid why you're doing it."

Em received floods of comments on social media, other users weighing in on the unpleasant interaction, and she's since spoken out about the publicity she's received.

Oh for someone to be able to go to the gym and workout in peace.

Taking to TikTok last week, Em said the original video 'got way more attention' than she thought it would' - having received floods of support from other social media users, even the likes of Joey Swoll.

In the post she continues: "I just want to say, please don't let people like this or this video discourage you from going to the gym.

"You deserve to better yourself by going, do whatever you want without having to worry about people.

"So please just remember that and focus on positivity and working on yourself."

And once again, people are flooding to Em's post to share their views.

One TikTok user said: "Idk i like workout videos bcs i like watching people better themselves and work hard for themselves… keep your head up girl."

"You have such a level-headed attitude. I would have completely lost it in that situation," another added.

A third commented: "Nothing wrong with videoing in the gym. As long you’re not using to make fun of others. Which you don’t do that."

And a fourth resolved: "Your videos in the gym inspire people to work out and give people like me the motivation to keep pushing through. I appreciate people who film in the gym. Thank you for what you do and keep doing you!"
