Homeschooling allows you the freedom to choose what you teach outside of the national curriculum, but what about what this one mom is doing?

Forget learning all about Math for hours a week, this one mother is choosing to set her kids up for life so they ‘never have to work a day in their lives if they don’t want to.’

Amanda Custer is a 38-year-old mom-of-three who is deciding to set her children up for success with a controversial lesson.

When Custer decided to get into trading financial assets four years ago, she found that all she had to do was to tailor it around her life with her kids and she could have it all.

Amanda now teaches others how to trade through her company, Forex For Women and maintains her work-life balance at home.

Now, she only spends 15-minutes a day trading and then allows her children to choose their own daily schedule, which includes around 2 hours per day on schoolwork.

That’s because she wants them to have the freedom to use their financial skills so that they don’t have to work hard in the future.

Her kids, Adalyn, 12, Lucille, 10, and Anniston, nine, vary their days from play to mock trading education to help them to gain the skills needed as soon as they turn 18.

The California mom, told Absolutely Business, that: “During the week in between dance, sports, art, and enrichment classes they have complete control over when they complete their lessons.”

As soon as they’ve completed their schoolwork, the kids then have ‘complete freedom to choose activities,’ which could be ‘beach days’ or ‘riding bikes.’

She explained: “My husband and I are both entrepreneurs, so we have full control over our schedules.

“I am usually up by 6am. My girls wake up around 8am and spend their mornings slow with breakfast or playing outside.

“Most of their day is filled with activities with other homeschooling friends whether it’s a trip to the pool, beach, museum, or a meet-up at the park.”

As someone who works with Forex, she knew that this was a passion that could allow her to ‘create a system that made trading passive’ so that she could be ‘fully present’ in her children’s lives.

She said: “My children are not live trading in the markets because they are not 18, so for now I am teaching them how to read the charts, and understand what is happening, how I enter into trade opportunities and more.”

Using demo broker accounts, the girls are currently in ‘successful positions’ and know their stuff.

Amanda added: “I teach them that our goal isn’t to predict what is going to happen next in the market. It is something to take advantage of what is currently happening.”

Online, people were quick to kick up a fuss with one person snarking that they 'want my children to know the value of hard work' and someone else calling her out for allowing the kids to gamble.

However, others found her approach liberating, with one writing: "People are snarking on you but honestly, you’re not doing anything bad, you’re literally teaching them to LIVE not exist."

    Let the woman live, jeez.
