A man has been left injured after going down a damaged waterslide on the Icon of the Seas.
The Royal Caribbean cruise ship is the largest in the world and can carry a whopping 7,600 passengers at its maximum capacity.
While the infamous ship has only been sailing since January 2024, it has already been involved in a handful of controversies — including a death.

In May 2024, a man died after jumping more than 80 feet off the gigantic vessel, which was located around 300 miles away from Port Miami.
Addressing the tragic incident, Royal Caribbean told The New York Post at the time: "The ship’s crew immediately launched a search and rescue effort alongside the US Coast Guard, who have taken over the search.
"Our Care Team is providing support and assistance to the guest’s family during this difficult time. For the privacy of the guest and their family, we have no additional details to share."
Now, in another incident, a man has reportedly been left 'sliced open' after going down a faulty waterslide.
The cruise ship passenger had been going down the Icon of Seas' Frightening Bolt slide yesterday (August 7) when a section of the slide cracked and created a jagged edge. The man is said to have been left with lacerations to his back and legs, The Telegraph reports.
Royal Caribbean has addressed the incident and confirmed that it was an adult male who was injured.

A spokesperson told Fox 59: "Our team provided medical care to an adult guest when acrylic glass broke off a water slide as the guest passed through the slide. The guest is being treated for his injuries.
"The water slide is closed for the remainder of the sailing pending an investigation."

In an additional comment to UNILAD a Royal Caribbean spokesperson said: "The health and safety of our guests, crew, and the communities we visit are our top priority. To maintain an environment that supports the highest levels of health and safety onboard our ships, we implement rigorous cleaning procedures, many of which far exceed public health guidelines."

Passengers on the Icon of the Seas have filmed the broken slide where water was seen gushing out of the evident crack.
Someone who filmed the immediate aftermath of the incident was heard saying 'Oh my god' as other passengers shouted up to the top of the attraction, telling people not to go down it.
"Stop the slide!" they screamed.
In another video, an Icon of the Seas passenger said the slide was on the 16th floor of the cruise ship. Zooming in on the damaged slide, it was clear there was a large hole in it.

Another clip showed cruise ship staffers putting a tarp around the damaged attraction.
