A solo female camper has shared terrifying footage of a man approaching her to tell her someone was 'watching' her, but she quickly began to suspect all was not as it seemed.
Alyssa Vanilla, a female traveller who was camping in her van in the desert by herself, experienced just how dangerous adventuring can be for female travellers.
On one of her days in the desert outside of Tucson, Arizona, an ATV van approached her, and she decided to film the encounter in case anything happened.

A man approached her, asking if she needed any water and if she was OK.
After asking him if he was a ranger, he replied ‘no, no I just live close’.
The two had a brief conversation about Alyssa’s travels and the man asked how long she was planning to stay in the desert for.
He added: “If you do stay, I’ll see you again.

“But that’s all I’m doing, just nothing spooky.
“I have a house, my wife is living there and my children, so if you ever need a shower you’re welcome to come by.
"It would probably work better since you are female if you came by while I was there a couple of times, just so my wife gets to know you and she doesn't think there's something stupid going on."
After leaving Alyssa to get on with her day, she carried on doing her laundry, that was until he returned.

And this time, he was even creepier.
As he approached her van, he said: “So you have a guy, in the mountain over there, watching you with binoculars.”
Alyssa replied: “Oh well that is erm, unnerving, I guess I won’t be staying.”

To which he said: “Well it’s not that you can’t stay, but I’ll be honest with you, the other side of the mountain is safer.”
However, at this point in her travels, Alyssa knew there wasn’t much truth to what he was saying, as she put a caption on the screen saying ‘the other side of the mountain is a lot more open and exposed’.
The guy continued talking about her supposed ‘stalker’ who he said went round to check that everyone had water…sounds eerily similar to his actions a little while earlier, don’t you think.

After this, Alyssa broke eye contact with the man and started to put away her laundry and pack down her things, to signal to him that she was leaving.
But instead of driving off, the man sat in his vehicle staring at her and rubbing his fingers on the steering wheel for an uncomfortable amount of time, in total silence.
An X user who saw the clip wrote: “That 20 second silence as he stared her down was chilling.
“I'm glad she's safe.”
Another simply said: "Jesus, this is all too familiar."
