With Christmas out of the way and the New Year upon us, what better way to try and escape the January blues than booking somewhere hot for a luxurious escape, whether that be for now or later on in the year.
The weather is obviously an important factor for a lot of travelers, but you of course want to be visiting a country that you feel safe in, too.
That is particularly the case for those who solo travel, something that has become ever popular in recent years.

Nora, who goes by the name of Nora the Explorer on TikTok, has visited a whopping 35 countries to date as a solo traveler.
In a recent viral TikTok, Nora has shared some advice for other female travelers who may be thinking about taking a solo trip.
Nora outlined some of the countries she felt unsafe in, though she did insist the counties are still worth visiting and her thoughts are only from her own experiences.
Nora, who is originally from Hungary but now lives in Australia, told viewers at the beginning for the video she was going to list the countries she didn't feel safe in while backpacking alone.

"I still had a wonderful time in all these places. It could have happened anywhere," she insisted.
"It doesn't mean the whole country is unsafe and you shouldn't visit it."
The countries Nora lists in the video are Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, South Africa, Australia, Denmark, Sri Lanka and the Philippines.

Nora then went on to discuss some of her experiences in those countries in more detail for anyone planning to visit any of them.
Speaking of the Philippines and Sri Lanka, Nora said: "These were the top two countries where I experienced men being extremely pushy and not really taking no for an answer."
Despite this happening 'a few times' in Sri Lanka, Nora still insists it's her 'favorite country in the whole world'.
Nora also revealed in the TikTok how she spent ten years living in Denmark, particularly Copenhagen, where she began to feel unsafe as time passed.

"The last one or two years, I don't know what happened but I did not have a night where someone did not touch my butt inappropriately in a club or in a bar," she said.
However, the traveler added that Denmark is 'one of the safest, happiest countries in the world'.
Meanwhile, in Vietnam, Nora says she and a friend believed they were drugged in a bar in Hanoi.

She explained her friend started 'acting strange' after finishing her drink and decided to take her back to the hostel as she was unable to speak properly.
At this point, Nora says she also began to feel unwell and subsequently fainted in the shower.
In light of her experiences, she's urging other female solo travelers to stay vigilant while out in bars abroad.
