A Donald Trump golf course has been put into lockdown after shots were fired in the vicinity of the former president.
The news comes just two months after an attempted assassination of Donald Trump led to one spectator being killed, two being injured, and the assassin being shot by Secret Service.
A person has been detained in connection with the shooting, which took place at the Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The suspect has since been identified by officials as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58.

The golf club was placed into lockdown due to the ongoing incident.
Reports claim that Trump is 'safe', according to Secret Service Spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi.
A statement from the White House confirmed that both President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris had been briefed on the situation.

The statement read: "The President and Vice President have been briefed about the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course, where former President Trump was golfing.
"They are relieved to know that he is safe. They will be kept regularly updated by their team."
A separate statement, posted to Harris' Twitter, said: "I have been briefed on reports of gunshots fired near former President Trump and his property in Florida, and I am glad he is safe. Violence has no place in America."

The Trump campaign has sent out a statement responding to the shooting, in which he said: "There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL!“
"Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me.
"Unity. Peace. Make America Great Again."

Martin's County Sheriff's Office released the following statement on the arrest made in connection to the shooting.
They said: "Northbound I-95 at 714 is shut down. Based on BOLO information released by Palm Beach County, the Martin County Sheriff's Office has stopped a vehicle and taken a suspect into custody believed to be connected to a shooting incident at Trump International in Palm Beach County."
