A Californian city council has voted to commemorate Tupac Shakur with a street name.
Nearly 30 years after the 'All Eyez On Me' rapper was killed at the age of 25 in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Oakland city has decided to honour Shakur by renaming one of its streets.
But what will the road be called?
As well as living in Oakland, Shakur lived in Baltimore, Maryland and Marin City, California. However, the city on the east side of San Francisco Bay - where he stayed in the late 80's to early 90's - is the place the rapper said he found his 'game'.

Former mayor Libby Schaaf said, as per the LA Times: "Tupac once said: ‘I give all my love to Oakland, if I’ma claim somewhere I’ma claim Oakland'."
The idea to name a street in Oakland after the rapper was first put forward by District 3 council member Carroll Fife.
Fife said, as per the LA Times: "When [hip-hop] first started people didn’t think it was a valid art form. Now it’s taken hold all across the world.
"Tupac Amaru Shakur is a name that is known all across the world for not only his only political influence but his influence on music."

Oakland city council - made up of eight members directly elected by residents - was unanimous in its vote on Tuesday, 16 May to honour the rapper with a street name.
The road won't strictly be renamed as per say, but instead will gain another name to honour the rapper.
A part of MacArthur Boulevard by Lake Merritt will subsequently now be known as 'Tupac Shakur Way'.

To mark the commemorative additional name, the Tupac Shakur Foundation has reportedly paid for a plaque to adorn the road.
The foundation, started in 1997, is 'dedicated to raising awareness about the prevalence and connection between trauma and mental health. We provide access to the resources needed to address traumas, support growth and healing'.
"Our aim is to effectively stop the negative generational impacts on our children, families’ and community through mental wellness initiatives and the creative arts," its website states.

According to Fife, the plaque is anticipated as being instated on 16 June - the day of Shakur's birthday.
The street naming resolution states: "Tupac Shakur’s legacy will continue through his contributions in art and social outreach, through his family and fans, touching countless lives of children and elders over the years while alive and after his death, taken too young by gun violence."
UNILAD has contacted the Tupac Shakur Foundation for comment.
