Teenage boy dies after falling from the 35th floor of hotel

A heartbroken family is demanding a thorough investigation after a 15-year-old died after falling from a hotel

Tyler Mason, 15, died after he fell from a balcony of the Meriton Suites hotel in Parramatta, in Sydney's West, Australia on March 14 at around 11.30pm.

Police investigating the incident initially deemed it a suicide, however Tyler’s family has rejected this conclusion.

Tyler’s aunt Jo-Ellen Hall, who works as a mental health nurse, said the teenager would never take his own life.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, she said: “There's no way it was suicide.

“It's 100 percent clear this boy was not capable of jumping off the balcony.”

She has also said since his death she has called the police 60 times trying to get answers into her nephew’s death.

“If it was suicide, I wouldn't be doing this. There is not one part of me that thinks it was suicide, absolutely none,” she added.

Tyler was at the hotel to celebrate a friend’s 16th birthday party with another group of teenagers and had even shared videos of himself on social media while in the elevator on the way to the room.

He was then seen dancing and singing along to Eminem's 'Without Me' with a female friend.

Tyler’s aunt also claimed that she had regularly checked on the teenager to assess his mental health due to him recently losing his mother in February in a car crash.

Tyler's mum had battled drug addiction and he'd been placed into foster homes.

She also said that her nephew had previously attempted to sabotage his placement in foster homes as he wanted to be with his mum and ‘save her’

He was reported missing in August last year. Ms Hall said he was on the run and understood he was living with his mother at the time.

After his mother’s death, she said she put on her ‘nurse's cap’ and asked him how he was feeling and whether he would do anything ‘silly’. He assured her he would not commit suicide.

She has also questioned whether drugs were involved in his death as she learnt during the party he was foaming at the mouth and was put in the shower naked.

She reiterated there are videos of Tyler singing and seemingly having a good time not long before his death.
