Data infrastructure company Astronomer has shared an update on its CEO, Andy Byron, after he was spotted with his arms around one of his employees at a Coldplay concert in Massachusetts.
The company released an update on Byron after announcing on July 18 that it had initiated a formal investigation when Byron was spotted with the company's Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, at the gig on July 16.
Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, but in footage that has since gone viral, he can be seen enjoying the gig with Cabot, who he had his hands around as she leaned back into his chest.
When the pair realized their image was being broadcast on a huge screen in the venue, Cabot rushed to cover her face and Byron ducked down out of the camera’s view, leaving Coldplay frontman Chris Martin baffled.

In the wake of the viral clip, Astronomer initially responded with a statement in which it assured it was 'committed to the values and culture that have guided [it] since [its] founding'.
"Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability," it continued. "The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly."
Now, Astronomer has issued a statement announcing that Byron has resigned from his role as CEO of the company.

Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.
"Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted. The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.
"Before this week, we were known as a pioneer in the DataOps space, helping data teams power everything from modern analytics to production AI.
"While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not.
"We’re continuing to do what we do best: helping our customers with their toughest data and AI problems."
Astronomer's post comes after a previous statement was allegedly attributed to Byron, however, a spokesperson from Astronomer later confirmed that was ‘not a real statement’.
