The ex-wife of a man who went missing onboard a cruise ship has spoken out after the search was suspended earlier this month.
Cruise ships are often thought of as the go-to luxurious mode of travel, but there have been instances where it all went wrong out at sea.
This is what happened to Kevin McGrath, 26, after he boarded the Carnival cruise on a Bahamas trip.

The 26-year-old was heading back to PortMiami to celebrate his father’s 60th birthday, but during his three-day trip, McGrath mysteriously disappeared after 2.00am, when he was last seen by his brother.
It was only after the family met for breakfast the following morning that they realised McGrath didn’t show up and reported him missing.
At the time, a spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Police Department said the overboard detection system on the ship didn’t sound an alarm, and that there is no evidence to suggest that McGrath went overboard.

The United States Coast Guard has since confirmed the search has been suspended.
Since then, his family and ex-wife have tirelessly tried to search for him, to no avail.
Danielle McGrath, his sister, told the USA TODAY: "Everyone has different relationships with the person but me, how I know my brother, how I last spoke to him, his energy, his spirit. This is definitely not like him."

The ex-wife of McGrath, Addison Thomas, has gone on to speak with TMZ, stating that she feels he is still alive somewhere.
She went on to explain the grief that she is experiencing from her loss and that it's still difficult waking up and wondering where he is.
Thomas shares the same views as McGrath’s family, that it’s not in his character to abandon his family or his children.

Even though the couple split and didn’t work out, she maintains that they had a good relationship and that he would always call to check on their kids.
According to TMZ, McGrath was on probation when he disappeared on the cruise and was having legal trouble after pleading guilty to aggravated assault in September 2022.
Thomas corroborated this, but wants the public to know that McGrath isn’t a bad person, and that he's a veteran who fought for his country and loves his family.
She said that she doesn't think him going missing is related to his legal issues and that he’s not a dangerous person.
