Donald Trump goes on furious rant over ‘truly the worst’ portrait of him in State Capitol

Trump demanded the portrait be taken down and claimed it had been 'purposefully distorted'

Donald Trump has been mocked online after going on a rant on Truth Social about a portrait of him that was unveiled back in 2019.

President Donald Trump going on rants on Truth Social isn’t anything new but his latest has left some people scratching their heads.

Trump took issue with the quality of a portrait of him at Colorado’s Capital and even compared it to Barack Obama’s picture, saying his looks wonderful.

Oddly enough, the president also took shots at Colorado Governor Jared Polis and asked him to take it down, despite him not commissioning the portrait in the first place.

Trump wrote: “Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves, but the one in Colorado, in the State Capitol, put up by the Governor, along with all other Presidents, was purposefully distorted to a level that even I, perhaps, have never seen before.

“The artist also did President Obama, and he looks wonderful, but the one on me is truly the worst. She must have lost her talent as she got older. In any event, I would much prefer not having a picture than having this one, but many people from Colorado have called and written to complain. In fact, they are actually angry about it!

“I am speaking on their behalf to the Radical Left Governor, Jared Polis, who is extremely weak on Crime, in particular with respect to Tren de Aragua, which practically took over Aurora (Don’t worry, we saved it!), to take it down. Jared should be ashamed of himself!"

The unveiling of the picture isn’t recent either and was actually unveiled back during Trump’s first term in office in 2019.

The portrait also doesn't have any connections to liberals or democrats as it was funded and installed after a push by former Republican state senator Kevin Grantham.

Grantham made a GoFundMe page back in 2018 to raise the funds to have the portrait made so it could be added to the Hall of Presidential Portraits in Colorado’s State Capitol.

Ironically, when it was first unveiled many felt it was a flattering portrayal of Trump, with artist Sarah A. Boardman insisting she didn't let any of her personal feelings about him enter into the work.

She told Chicago Public Radio in 2019: "My portrait of President Trump has been called thoughtful, non-confrontational, not angry, not happy, not tweeting.

"In five, 10, 15, 20 years, he will be another president on the wall who is only historical background and he needs to look neutral."

People on social media took to mocking Trump for his sudden annoyance with the portrait.

Sharing a screenshot of Trump’s rant, one person sarcastically commented: “The president is laser focused on the big issues.”

Another said: “Trump might be the most triggered snowflake president we have ever seen. Love it.”

With a third commenting: “He is the smallest, weakest, most insecure president we’ve ever had. How is this an issue he needed to spend even an ounce of time on?”

And another added: “He should be grateful bc that picture looks way better than he ever did.”
