Donald Trump has hit out at the FBI's director for questioning if a bullet actually hit his ear when he was shot at a rally in Pennsylvania.

On July 13, shots rang out during Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Footage from the event captured the moment the former president's hand flew to the side of his face before emerging with a bloodied ear, confirming his injuries in a post to social media.

However, whether it was actually a bullet that hit his ear was questioned by FBI director Christopher Wray and Trump has since fiercely responded.

On Wednesday (July 24), Wray testified in front of the House Judiciary Committee about the ongoing investigation, looking into the events of July 13 and what has been resolved as an assassination attempt on Trump's life.

The FBI explained the scene had been scoured over by officials, recovering evidence such as bullets and where the gunman - since identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks - was located, eight spend rounds were recovered.

Wray continued: "With respect to former president Trump, there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear.

"As I sit here right now, I don’t know whether that bullet… in addition to causing the grazing, could have landed somewhere else. But I believe we’ve accounted for all the shots in the cartridges."

And it didn't take long for Trump to take to his social media platform Truth Social to address Wray's comments.

Trump stated: "FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet (the FBI never even checked!), but he was sure that Crooked Joe Biden was physically and cognitively 'uneventful' - Wrong!

"That’s why he knows nothing about the terrorists and other criminals pouring into our Country at record levels. His only focus is destroying J6 Patriots, Raiding Mar-a-Lago, and saving Radical Left Lunatics, like the ones now in D.C. burning American flags and spray painting over our great National Monuments - with zero retribution."

"No, it was, unfortunately, a bullet that hit my ear, and hit it hard. There was no glass, there was no shrapnel. The hospital called it a 'bullet wound to the ear'. No wonder the once storied FBI has lost the confidence of America!"

UNILAD has contacted the FBI for comment.
