Emails from the latest batch of documents released by the Department of Justice on Jeffrey Epstein appear to suggest that he had a secret child.

On Friday (January 30), around three million pages, 180,000 images and 2,000 videos were released related to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Epstein has become infamous for his connections to multiple rich and powerful individuals, and many high-profile names have come up in the newly published documents. It's important to note that being named or pictured in the files does not imply any wrongdoing or knowledge of Epstein's crimes.

Those who feature in the files range from celebrities to politicians, with US president Donald Trump being named hundreds of times, while former US president Bill Clinton was also mentioned, though neither Trump nor Clinton has been accused of any crime in relation to their association with Epstein.

But there is also one unusual piece of correspondence featured in the latest release, which sticks out for a different reason.

This is an email which appears to suggest that Epstein had a 'secret child', the existence of whom was not made public.

One email dated September 21 2011 appears to show Sarah Ferguson, the ex-wife of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was stripped of his titles last year, congratulating Epstein on having a baby boy.

“Don’t know if you’re still on this bbm but have heard from The Duke that you have had a baby boy,” the newly-released email said.

It adds: “Even though you never kept in touch, I still am here with love, friendship, and congratualtions [sic] on your baby boy. Sarah xx.”

In a second email, which seems to be from the same chain, Ferguson appears to accuse Epstein of only becoming her friend to get close to Andrew.

"You have disappeared. I did not even know you were having a baby. It was sooooo crystal clear to me that you were only friends with me to get to Andrew," the email read.

"And that really hurt me deeeply [sic]. More than you will know."

The release of the files also came after the posthumous publication of Virginia Giuffre's memoir.

Giuffre claimed that she was trafficked by Epstein aged 17 and made to have sex with Andrew, having publicly led efforts to bring justice to his victims before her death by suicide.

Andrew has denied the allegations.

Images of Andrew released in the latest batch of documents show him crouching over an unidentified woman who is lying on the floor.

Speaking about the documents, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said: "Today's release marks the end of a very comprehensive document identification and review process to ensure transparency to the American people and compliance."

Epstein was found dead in his jail cell in 2019.
