A woman was left baffled when she returned home to find an integral part of her home was missing.
Amanda Brochu, from Orange County, Florida, had listed her home for sale and, shortly after, some contractors appeared to measure her driveway.
Understandably confused, Amanda asked the workers what they were doing as she hadn't hired them to do any work.

They then informed her that a man simply known as 'Andre' had reached out to their firm to price a replacement driveway at her address.
As proof, they provided Amanda with text messages between them and their mysterious client Andre (who was coincidentally out of town when they asked for a face-to-face meeting).
When the contractors asked for proof of ownership of the property, Andre then cut off all communication with them.

This sparked Amanda to involve law enforcement and, when they contacted the man, he insisted that it was just a misunderstanding and that he'd given the contractors the wrong address.
But a week later, Amanda's doorbell camera captured the moment a bulldozer rocked up to her home and tore up her driveway to take it away.
Speaking to WFTV, Amanda's realtor Rocki Sanchez said: "I’ve never seen this before. I’ve never had this happen to myself or anyone in our office."

After reaching out to the local real estate community, they believe that Amanda may have been a victim of some sort of scam.
Rocki went on: "I had multiple people come forward saying that they’ve seen things like this happen - whether it be driveways, roofs, painting, even outside the exterior. So it happens more often than we actually see it."
The theft of her driveway is causing huge issues for Amanda as she needs to sell her home in a bid to move into her new one nearby.
Amanda has just two weeks to sell the property or else she will lose the new house she is under contract to purchase.

In light of her wanting to sell her home, Amanda recently replaced the roof of the property, meaning she doesn't have the extra cash replace her stolen driveway.
She's been quoted $10,000.
"No one's going to buy this," Amanda said. "This brings down the price of the property now, and that just messes it up for me and my family."

She's since set up a GoFundMe page in the hopes of raising the cash to replace her driveway.
Meanwhile, police have launched a criminal investigation.
