The heartbroken mother of twin girls who died after becoming trapped inside their toy box has thanked people for donations and support following the tragedy.
Kellan and Aurora Starr, from Jacksonville, Florida, were fast asleep in their beds when mom Sadie Myers came home from work and checked in on them.
However, the devastated mom says the pair must have woken up at some point during the night and decided to 'play in their room rather than sleep'.

In a heart wrenching post on Facebook Sadie explained: "They do this a lot. And then they usually fall asleep in some weird place in their room with toys left everywhere so mom and dad can see proof of their late night playing when we get up in the morning.
"Friday night the weird place they decided to snuggle up and go back to sleep was in their cedar toy chest that we use to store all their stuffed animals."
However, she believes something happened while they were inside the box and the lid ended up shutting.

“They laid inside head to toe, with one arm each over their twin,” she continued.
Sadie writes that she didn’t know that most ‘wooden toy chests once closed are AIR TIGHT and also sound proof’.
So, while laying together head to toe, they ‘slowly ran out of oxygen’ and ‘never even knew it was happening’.
After the family saw the girls weren’t in the beds, they frantically searched the house which led to them being found by their brother who initially thought they were ‘just sleeping’ inside the toy box, but the mom realized ‘it was already too late’.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office’s said the twins had no signs of trauma, everyone in the house was interviewed and no charges were filed.
Aurora and Kellan’s aunt Deanna has launched a GoFundMe to help raise money for the family ‘while they live through the most horrific and painful thing’.
The fundraiser has since been flooded with donations and currently stands at $34,920.

In a post on Facebook, Sadie thanked people for their support,
“I want to thank EVERYONE for your kind words and for all the support and donations given,” she wrote.
“You all have no idea what it means to me and my family to know there are so many people out there that care so deeply, especially for people you don’t even know.
“Reading all your kind messages definitely helps dull the pain, if even for just a moment, I greatly appreciate the help. Thank you all so very much.”
