A man whose ex-wife sliced off his penis more than 30 years ago is now calling on her to apologise.
In 1993 John Wayne Bobbitt and Lorena Bobbitt came to national attention following a confrontation at their home in which she cut off his penis.
A court case began following the infamous incident.

Lorena alleged that her husband John had abused her for years.
She also alleged that on the evening of the incident he had come home and raped her.
After he had gone to bed, Lorena took an eight-inch knife from the kitchen, pulled back the bed covers and cut off his penis.

She then drove off with the severed organ before throwing it out of the car window and calling the cops.
Surgeons were able to reattach John's severed penis following a nine-and-a-half hour long procedure.
John was charged with rape and later acquitted.
Lorena was also subsequently acquitted of all charges against her, including of 'malicious wounding'.

A jury concluded that she was 'temporarily insane' when she carried out the attack.
Lorena was subsequently detained in a psychiatric facility for 45 days following the trial, before being released.
After having his penis reattached, John went on to star in two pornographic films.

He has since called on Lorena to apologise for the incident, even suggesting that they could have 'worked it out'.
Speaking to the US Sun, he said: "I would hope she would speak up and admit she made a mistake.
"We could have worked it out and had a family."
He added: "Yes, I could forgive her The attack affected me differently because I was a Marine and trained for combat.

"I knew when they were able to put it back on I would be ok because I had healed pretty good.
"But why couldn't she have waited until the morning to talk to me? Why did she do it?
"She's still saying I'm a monster but I just want my name back. I want closure."
The couple divorced in 1995, and in the years since the trial Lorena went on to run the Lorena Gallo Foundation which works to support victims of domestic violence.
Speaking to TIME magazine in 2018, 25 years after the incident, she criticised the media coverage at the time.
She said: "This is a very important issue that’s going on and you’re basically more concerned about the man who lost his penis. The whole country was divided, obviously, women and men.
"Unfortunately, we’re still in a patriarchal society. It’s a man’s world, that hasn’t changed much."
