A woman found dead in her freezer reportedly called the cops before her death with concerns about her ex-roommate, who has now been accused of killing her.
Monique Gilbertson, 68, was found inside the freezer in her home in Las Vegas after police responded to a wellness check request by someone in her community, 8 News Now reported.
The concerned member of the community, who was from a leasing office, told a 911 dispatcher: “She called you guys about two weeks ago.” The person who raised the alarm recalls seeing Gilbertson every day, but this changed suddenly.

They added: “She had a roommate issue, and she called because in her roommate’s stuff, she had found a gun, but I don’t know how far she got with that phone call. She said that she couldn’t get a hold of you guys, she was going to, like, throw it in the trash.”
The roommate, Daniel Roush, 37, met Gilbertson at a store. She invited him to move in with her, according to arrest documents.
Initially, the pair got along, but Gilbertson became ‘upset about how filthy Roush was’.
Gilbertson kicked Roush out of the house around October 22 and changed the locks.

The concerned member of the community who called for the wellness check informed police that Gilbertson used to call the property management office several times a day.
However, these calls stopped around October 22.
Police conducted a wellness check on November 6, and found Roush and a woman inside the house.

Roush asked officers if they had a warrant to look at the freezer. He allegedly told police he found Gilbertson slumped over in a chair in the dining room, and then decided to ‘put her in the icebox’ because he didn’t know what else to do.
He also allegedly said that he believed Gilbertson had overdosed on cocaine or fentanyl she had purchased from him. But the community member who requested the welfare check said they did not believe Gilbertson used drugs, or even drank alcohol.
Documents about the case do not indicate how Gilbertson may have died. They state she was found in the freezer, and that there was little blood at the scene.
A local woman, who was interviewed by Fox 5, called Gilbertson 'a real big-hearted person' who 'didn't really have any family, lonely and vulnerable'.

Roush has been charged with second-degree murder for the death of Gilbertson.
