I bet you’ve had a conversation at one point that revolved around the tricky question ‘what would your last meal be if you were on death row?’
Well, this has been a sobering reality for the thousands of US inmates who have been sentenced to the death penalty for their gruesome crimes.
As the popularity of ‘true crime’ continues to grow around the world, serial killers are a morbid obsession we can't help fixating over.

One of the details we seem to be particularly interested in is what these dangerous killers chose for their last meal on earth, and some are just…..well, strange.
John Wayne Gacy
Arguably the most infamous serial killer, John Wayne Gacy, who was also known as the ‘Pogo The Killer Clown’ and murdered 33 boys and young men in the 1970s, went large with his last meal.

He chose to ask for 12 fried shrimp, a bucket of KFC chicken, fries and a pound of fresh strawberries.
Victor Feguer
Feguer was executed back in 1963 after kidnapping and murdering a doctor.

He was the last person to ever be sentenced to death in Iowa, and decided to choose a single olive for his last meal.
The reason why he chose the meal is even more strange.
He told guards he hoped an olive tree would grow from his grave as a sign of peace.
Ted Bundy

Ted Bundy, who rose to infamy due to the fact he never ‘looked like your typical killer’ and weirdly grew a female fan base while being incarcerated, killed at least 20 women.
He decided to forgo requesting a last meal and instead asked for the customary meal of the day which which was eggs, hash browns, toast and juice, with a complimentary steak added on his plate.
Timothy McVeigh

Timothy McVeigh, a domestic terrorist who perpetrated Oklahoma City Bombings and killed 168 people, clearly had a favourite food.
He requested two pints of mint ice cream. After polishing the ice cream off, McVeigh denied his right to make a final statement.
In most states, the final meal is given to the inmate one or two days before execution. A restriction was added to last meals in some states, which now have a spend cap of $40 to avoid extravagance.
With the meals being revealed, even crime enthusiasts seemed unnerved with one particular 'dish', with one instagram user saying: "Nothing scares me more than that single olive."
Another adding: "A single olive is the most psychotic thing I've ever heard."
