After he left at around 9.45pm, Strain reportedly told his friends that he would walk back to their hotel, located around five blocks away, and meet them there.

But his friends said that Riley never turned up at the hotel, and his whereabouts are still unknown.

Police have described Riley as being 6ft 5, weighing 160lbs, and having blonde hair and blue eyes.

Nashville Police Department have since posted some CCTV footage from later in the evening.

Police claim that the footage shows Riley alone and stumbling around.

So far, police efforts to locate Riley, including deploying a helicopter, have not located him.

Riley's disappearance has started to gain national attention, with billboards reportedly going up in Nashville raising awareness of his disappearance.

The 22-year-old is a student at the University of Missouri and had been visiting Nashville with group Delta Chi.

While this was not an official college trip, the University of Missouri has confirmed it is helping to find Riley.

Interim vice chancellor for student affairs Angela King Taylor said: “Our thoughts are with Riley’s family as the search continues. We will be offering any support to them that we can, and we encourage anyone who needs help to reach out to our counselling resources.”

Luke Bryan himself has posted a statement on Instagram about Riley's disappearance.

He wrote: "Y'all This Is Scary. Praying For His Safe Return.

"TC Restaurant Group, operator, and owner of Luke's 32 Bridge is continuing to work closely with the Metro Nashville Police Department to provide security camera footage and any other potentially helpful information to aid in the search for Riley Strain.

Riley's mom Michelle Whiteid has opened up about Riley's disappearance, telling WSMV: “It’s so hard. “I just need to know where my son is.”

She added: “We talk every day, multiple times a day. "This is the longest I’ve ever gone without talking to him.”

Michelle went on to urge anyone with any information to contact the police.

She said: “Oh, God bud, we love you so much and we’re all looking for you, all of us. If anybody knows anything, please just call the police.”
