Charlie Sheen's ex being questioned over Matthew Perry's death as investigators say 'multiple people' may be charged

Charlie Sheen's ex being questioned over Matthew Perry's death as investigators say 'multiple people' may be charged

An investigation into Matthew Perry's death is ongoing

Charlie Sheen's ex-wife Brooke Mueller is reportedly being questioned by the police over Matthew Perry's death.

The Friends star died in October last year at the age of 54 after being found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home.

Two months after his passing, the LA County Medical Examiner’s Office determined Perry died of 'acute effects of ketamine', adding that the manner of the death was accidental.

The autopsy also listed 'drowning, coronary artery disease and the opioid buprenorphine' as contributors to his passing.

Despite the Friends' star's death being ruled as accidental, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) have been working together on a joint criminal investigation to look into how Perry obtained the drugs found in his system.

According to The Guardian, Perry was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy for anxiety and depression - something the actor has spoken openly about in the past.

However, Perry's last known infusion was a week and a half prior to his death, meaning that the drugs in his system weren't related to an infusion.

In a statement provided to press, the LAPD said: "Based on the medical examiner’s findings, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the United States Postal Inspection Service, has continued its investigation into the circumstances of Mr Perry’s death."

As reported by In Touch, a then unidentified woman was brought in for multiple interviews as part of the investigation.

When law enforcement arrived with a search warrant at the celebrity's Los Angeles home, she was out exercising and not present.

A source told the outlet that when the celebrity returned home she was 'completely cooperative'. She was not handcuffed or arrested.

After searching the woman's room, police apparently took an iPhone and a computer.

The source told In Touch that the woman and Perry met in rehab and forged an 'unexpected relationship'.

And after it was reported that 'multiple people' may be charged in connection to Perry's death, In Touch reports that Brooke Mueller - the ex-wife of Charlie Sheen - has been questioned 'multiple' times by cops.

Mueller was married to the Two and a Half Men star between 2008 - 2011, with them welcoming twin boys named Bob and Max.

An insider shared with the outlet: "She’s hired lawyers and has had multiple meetings with law enforcement since they arrived at her sober living house with a search warrant. She’s being tight-lipped about the situation.

"It’s tough to say or know exactly what her role is [in Perry’s death], but she’s adamant she had nothing to do with that."

UNILAD has reached out to Sheen's representatives and the LAPD for comment.
