MrBeast has said he'd consider running for president if the age requirement is lowered.

Move over Joe Biden, because MrBeast is coming for your job.

Apparently, being the creator of the world's current most subscribed to YouTube channel isn't enough for James Stephen 'Jimmy' Donaldson, who's revealed he'd be open to popping his hat in the ring for a shot at the US presidency.

MrBeast's voicing of a character in Kung Fu Panda 4 left those on the internet divided and well, him saying he'd run for president has received a similarly mixed response too.

MrBeast took to his X page yesterday (6 July) to make the announcement, writing: "If we lower the age to run for president I’ll jump in the race."

For those of you who didn't know, you have to be 35 years old to run for president in the US and MrBeast is 26.

Obviously, should MrBeast actually decide to run for president when he's reached his mid-thirties, this has the potential of putting a spanner in the works for fans of his content, with one user asking: "Would you still make YouTube videos if you were president?"

And MrBeast's answer could be seen on good or bad news, depending what sort of a fan you are of his work.

He responded: "I'd probably focus on running the largest economy on earth."

And it's not taken long for people to flock to the comments to weigh in.

One user said: "The funniest part about this is that you’d likely win," as another said: "You would be better than Biden & Trump for all we know."

However, a third commented: "You should sit this one out. You’re welcome."

And a fourth wrote: "That would be the ultimate YouTube video."

This isn't the first time the YouTuber has expressed an interest in being president of the US.

In 2022, he sat down with the Tiny Meat Gang and revealed he'd 'maybe' consider running for president 'in like 20 years'.

MrBeast said: "I wanna try to make a ton of money and then just give it all away right before I announce my campaign.

"Imagine I have 10 billion dollars and I just give it all away, and I’m just like, ‘I can’t be bought.’ I had it all. Give it all away. That’s pretty powerful.

"And then, instead of giving in to lobbyists or agendas, I just like, do whatever’s good for the American people. Sounds like it’d be a good idea.”

It's one thing wanting to and another thing being able, but MrBeast voiced he 'think[s] [he] could, to be honest'.

He resolved: "I think when I’m 40. Because I do think presidents are just getting way too f**king old. Especially by then, a lot of the older people in America will die out and there will be more people around our age.

"I think we’re due for younger presidents."
