A man who sexually assaulted his three-month-old son before brutally murdering him seemingly found God before his execution.
Despicable baby killer Travis Mullis gave his haunting final words following a 16-year spell on death row, before being being put to death on Tuesday evening (September 24).

The 38-year-old died by way of lethal injection at Huntsville Unit, the prison which houses the execution chamber for the State of Texas - and is the most active in the entire country.
There has been 590 executions since the death penalty was brought back in 1992.
In January 2008, following an argument with his girlfriend, the then-21-year-old Texan drove with his son Alijah from his home in Brazoria County to Galveston County, both of which are on the outskirts of Houston.
It was while in the county, which sits on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, that he sexually assaulted Alijah - before brutally murdering him by strangling him before getting out of the car and stamping on his head, officials confirmed.

Mullis dumped his baby son on the roadside, where he was tragically later discovered, before fleeing to Pennsylvania, where he was caught by police in Philadelphia.
Prior to his death this week, the wicked child rapist gave his chilling final message after waiving his right to appeal his death sentence.
Mullis thanked prison guards and officials for making changes, which in turn allowed 'the men on death row to show it is possible to be rehabilitated and not deemed a threat and not the men we were when we came into this system'.

"I’d like to thank everyone ... that accepted me for the man I became during my best and worst moments,” Mullis said.
He was accompanied by his 'spiritual advisor' who prayed for him while he was strapped to the gurney.
Mullis went on to say that he 'took the legal steps to expedite to include assisted suicide'.

He added: "I don’t regret this decision, to legally expedite this process.
"I do regret the decision to take the life of my son."
During his trial, prosecutors labeled Mullis a 'monster' who would manipulate people.
Before he died, he said sorry to Alijah's mom for taking her son away from her, and to her family.

He was one of five people on death row scheduled to be executed this week - including Marcellus Williams, who, unlike the awful Mullis, was 'likely' not the person who murdered Felicia Gayle back in 1999.
Despite a joint-brief from both county prosecutors and Williams' own defense lawyer, he was executed on Tuesday (September 24).
