A new shocking simulation of the assassination of former president John F Kennedy reveals what the 'single bullet theory' is - and how it sparked countless conspiracy theories afterwards.
It's one of the most famous assassinations in modern history.
John F Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States, was cruising the Dealey Plaza route in Dallas, Texas, in 1963 with his wife, Jacqueline, Texas governor, John Connally, and Connally's wife, Nellie, when a gunman fatally shot the president who was sat in the rear of an open-top presidential limousine.

Kennedy was rushed to Parkland Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead around 30 minutes after the shooting while Connally was also wounded in the attack but survived.

Less than two hours later, former US Marine Lee Harvey Oswald was apprehended by police and was charged with the then-president's murder.
But two days later, Oswald was also gunned down in a moment that was captured on live television.

Still, there have been countless conspiracy theories surrounding the former POTUS' murder, from CIA or Mafia involvement to political rivalries - amounting to some 42 groups, 82 assassins and 214 people being accused of being involved, according to the late lawyer, Vincent Bugliosi.
However, questions remain over the fatal shot itself which has now been reimagined in a simulation.

Zackdfilms - whose YouTube presents a portfolio of everything from factual explainers and moments in history, to the weird and morbidly fascinating through animations - has created a video of the harrowing assassination and the 'single bullet theory'.

The video explains a single shot was fired from a rifle from a sixth-floor window which first entered President JFK in the upper back and through his throat.
Then it struck governor Connally, sat in the front passenger seat in front of JFK, in the back, 'shattering a rib as it tore through his chest,' Zackdfilms adds.
The simulation continues: "The bullet continued exiting the governor's chest and hitting his right wrist, breaking a bone.

"Finally, it lodged itself into the governor's thigh where it stayed until removed by doctors in almost perfect condition."
The educational video reveals investigators claimed the single bullet managed to cause six wounds while staying intact.
"But many argue that the bullet's trajectory is impossible," it continued. "The angles just don't add up, leaving us wondering if there was actually more than one bullet."

According to the Warren Commission on JFK's assassination, the so-called 'magic bullet theory', as dubbed by conspiracy theorists, did see a single bullet pass through JFK's throat and injure governor Connally.
Kennedy was also shot at another two times, in which one bullet proved to be the fatal blow to his head. But where the problem lies with the 'single bullet theory' is how it was used to conclude Oswald acted alone.
The House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA) argued years later that there was more than one gunman responsible, while many historians agree JFK's autopsy had 'serious problems.'
The video also comes as the current president, Donald Trump, has ordered for the dossier of classified documents on the assassination to be released.
