How do The Simpsons writers do it? Every year, there seems to be something that an old episode foreshadows - and the latest has been confirmed over the weekend.
It has been one of the most historic months in the US' long history - to start with, there was a failed assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump, who is running for a second stint in the White House come the election in November.
And yesterday, President Joe Biden announced his decision to step down from the 2024 presidential race - opting out of the potential of sitting in the hot seat for another four years.

The 81-year-old will become one of just seven presidents to not run for office again - joining Lyndon B. Johnson, James K. Polk, James Buchanan, Rutherford B. Hayes, Calvin Coolidge, Harry S. Truman.
While Theodore 'Teddy' Roosevelt also made the decision not to run for president in 1908 after his first term, he launched a campaign for 1912 but suffered defeat.
Anyhow, this brings us to The Simpsons' latest prediction, which came after the 46th president endorsed Vice-President Kamala Harris to take on Trump as the Democratic Party's nominee.

Yes, the episode titled Bart to the Future, which aired in March 2000, depicts Lisa as president of the US. Check it out:
There is a striking resemblance between Harris and Lisa, with them even wearing almost an identical outfit when the yellow character was sworn-in as president in the show.
They both have pearl earrings on, a pearl necklace and a purple suit - the only thing that is different is their undershirt, with the cartoon donning a grey turtle neck as the 59-year-old wore a t-shirt that matched her blazer.

The resemblance was enough for users on X to suggest it was yet another prediction that The Simpsons has gotten right.
One user posted a picture of the two captioning it: "The Simpsons are back at it again."
And it, of course, went viral, with one person commenting: "The Simpsons never miss. Wild."

Although it may foreshadow Harris' election win, it is certainly far from a done-deal in reality.
In order for this prediction to join many of the shows correct predictions, Harris will need to get it over the line against Republican Donald Trump.
Responding to these assumptions, The Simpsons writer Al Jean posted a picture of the two captioning it: "@TheSimpsons 'prediction' I’m proud to be a part of."

Responding, one person joked: "Me watching the Simpsons to find what would be happening next."
While another replied to that idea claiming it would actually be 'pretty smart' to do so.
So what do you think, is there a possibility that Harris will be the 47th president?
