Father of missing teen who was spotted on live stream speaks out and gives update

Father of missing teen who was spotted on live stream speaks out and gives update

17-year-old Troy Coleman went missing in May but has since been returned with his family

The father of a teenager who'd been missing for several weeks has given an update after being reunited with his family.

Troy Coleman was declared missing back in May after he disappeared from his home in Flint, Michigan.

Troy's family were searching far and wide for him and launched an appeal in the hopes of locating the 17-year-old.

In the first few weeks, there was little information about Troy's whereabouts until he appeared on a random Twitch livestream recorded in Florida.

Someone recognized the teen in the video, which sparked his family to reach out to those who filmed it in the hopes of tracking Troy down.

Amazingly, it was in fact Troy in the livestream and he's since been reunited with his family in Michigan.

Now he's home and safe, Troy's father Weston Coleman has issued an update on how he and the family are doing.

"I'm just glad he's alive at this point and now can't believe we found him," Weston told People.

He added: "He's glad he is alive. We all feel a lot better, and we thank everybody."

While Troy has been through the ringer of late, Weston said that the teenager is in 'good spirits'.

His time away from home has taken it's toll on him, however, and doctors have been looking into Troy's state of mental health.

Apparently he's been acting erratically and his psychological state is 'unbalanced'.

Meanwhile, Weston says he's been dealing with his own mental hardships and described the search for his son as a 'mental, physical beat-down'.

"Right now, we're just both recovering from our mission here," Weston went on.

Following the Twitch stream identifying Troy, the content creator behind the video spoke out and said that he had no idea who the teen was until he received an email from someone alleging to be Troy's brother.

The Twitch star known as FaZe Lacy (real name Nick Fosco) said in an X post shared on July 3: "Three months ago a 17 year old kid went missing and was put on homicide.

"Yesterday on stream he came up to me and Clix and now his family knows he is alive and in Miami.

"I wasn’t sure if i should make this public but im hoping somehow this helps him be found for his family."

FaZe Lacy also shared a screenshot of the email he received from someone who introduced themselves as Trent Coleman and explained Troy's situation to the streamer.
