A waiter was left in shock after receiving a tip for thousands of dollars.
Sharing a photo on Reddit, the server - who wanted to remain anonymous - explained they were in disbelief over the customer's generosity.
The waiter explained that they work in a fine dining restaurant in Texas, and while they are used to tips, they'd never received anything like this.

The customer, who was celebrating a 50th birthday, spent $33,557,50 on the meal, before leaving a huge tip.
"I work at a fine dining restaurant in Texas," the waiter told Newsweek.
"This happened back in January this year—someone was celebrating a birthday."

While the included gratuity came to $6,200, there was another section where customers could add to this figure, if they wanted to.
To the server's amazement, the customer brought the figure up by $12,000, meaning the entire tip came to over $18,000.
The whole bill was a whopping $51,757.50.
"I have somewhat become used to getting crazy tips because it's fairly common where I work, but never anything like this," said the server.

"The customer just thanked me for my service told me everything was great, after they had left I went and checked it and I stared at it for a while because I was in disbelief.
"I thought he had just written an extra zero, but when I saw the total it confirmed it."
People were stunned on Reddit, with one person commenting: "The idea that someone can drop 50K at dinner is a hard one for me to wrap my head around."

While another said: "I am apparently working at the wrong places."
And a third added: "Seeing enough money to change the entire course of my life on a tip line is perhaps a bit jarring."
Meanwhile, another pointed out that it was the equivalent of a year's salary.
Recently, staff at a café in in Benton Harbor were left in shock when a diner added a $10,000 tip onto his bill.

Manager Tim Sweeney, from Mason Jar Cafe, explained that while staff do usually receive tips, it's never more than $100.
While most usually leave between 10 and 20 percent, the man in question left a whopping 30,835 percent of his bill.
“Typically, we’ll see every now and then $100 [tips],” Tim told The Hill. “But not ever anything of this gratitude or magnitude.”
The man, named Mark, revealed the heartbreaking reason why he decided to leave the gesture.
“It was in memory of a friend who had recently passed and he was in town for the funeral,” explained waitress Paige Mulick.
“It was just really an act of kindness that impacted so many people."
