A Target security guard punched a woman in the face when she demanded 'reparations' from the store to pay for more than $1,000 in groceries.

The incident took place last October at a store in Blue Ash, Ohio, when Karen Ivery asked a cashier for their manager to query a bill, according to a police report.

After following loss prevention officer, Zach Cotter, 28, to his office, police footage shows him punch the customer in the face in 'self defence'. Watch below:

While attempting to make the store pay for her bill, the cashier claims that Ivery brought up reparations several times until the manager arrived.

As shown via the body cam footage, she asks the cashier to call their manager over 'so we could have a larger conversation about how money works, and how the provision works, and how it’s been working in our community in a very wrong way'.

“This is my Rosa Parks moment,” she said.

According to the report obtained by the New York Post, Ivery then walked 'aggressively' towards the Target manager.

“Ivery kept berating her about reparations and her privileged life,” the report alleges.

Cotter then intervened during the altercation and the customer allegedly began screaming at the security guard, and followed him into his office.

As she was said to have blocked his path to shut the door, he threw a punch.

Cotter said: "I told her she needed to back up or leave. She started charging at me.

"I came all the way back into my office, into an enclosed space, and I hit her in the face. I have it all on video."

A police report seen by Mail Online read: "Ivery was very argumentative and confrontational about the whole incident.

"She was confrontational with officers on scene and didn't want to explain her actions that evening."

According to reports, police arrived at the scene and reviewed the footage, after determining that Ivery was the aggressor.

She was reportedly sentenced to one day in jail and was fined $110 for disorderly conduct.

UNILAD has contacted Blue Ash Police Department and Target for comment.

Earlier this month, social media users urged one woman to quit her job at Target after she showed her underwhelming pay rise after five years of service.

Sondae was previously making $15.61 per hour prior to receiving her bonus.

“So I was making $15.61. Now I make $15.92 — it’s a 2% raise, and I got 31 cents,” she says before finishing by saying: "Yay".

Kaitlin showed that she had received a 2 percent pay rise this year.

She captioned the video: "Love ittt.[sic]"

“That’s why I quit after being there two years,” says one TikTok user, who claims to be a former Target employee. “Now I’m getting paid 22.00.”

Another commenter said: “I’m hitting my 5 years at Costco in July. I get paid $29.30 Monday-Saturday and $43.95 on Sundays. With full benefits.”
