Qatar World Cup tents that have been costing supporters upwards of £175 per night are being secured by padlocks.
Fans who have braved the scorching heat and travelled up to Doha, Qatar to cheer on their favourite team are having to settle for pretty basic accommodation at pretty hefty prices.
As the World Cup kicks off today (20 November), it seems many fans will make their way to stadiums knowing their belongings are secured with two very basic-looking padlocks. Watch below:
Of course, anybody would want to try and secure their belongings when nearly 2.9 million tickets have been sold for the tournament in the Middle Eastern country.

For context, the 2021 population of Qatar is just under three million, which has always meant that accommodation would clearly be limited.
As a solution, Qatar are offering fans the option of staying 'Fan Camps' which tend to accommodate two people per tent.
The Qatar World Cup website state that the price for one tent, per night, for one guest, start from a whopping $207.36 (£174.65).

And as shown in the clip above, Emily Brooks has given us an insight into the football fan camps where she and another person are staying.
After heading to reception, Emily is shown the basic accommodation, which consists of two single beds, wifi and plug sockets.
If you want to keep your belongings secure, you'll be given two tiny padlocks that don't look very safe - if we're being honest.
Also if nature calls, you'll need to walk outside of your tent to the camp toilets, some of which don't even have toilet paper, Emily claims.

The TikToker also advises fellow fans to 'let the water run' if they would like to brush their teeth as her video shows the water flow looking rather yellow.
Commenting on the viral post, one person thought: "I’d rather would take a nice vacation for this money."
"Reminds me of prison," someone else said.

A third person questioned: "175 quid a night for that?! Bro that looks like my school camp!"
"So a waste of money then," another added.
However, not everyone thought the conditions were so bad, with one person commenting: "That’s good considering you will be out of the day and using it just to sleep."

Another added: "Close enough to the stadium and staying in a very expensive country? Not too bad. You’d be looking at spending over 1,000 min for hotel accomodation."
Someone else said: "Honestly isn’t too bad it’s the World Cup hotels will be a lot more expensive than that."
Well, in total, the controversial World Cup is expected to cost Qatar $220 billion (£185.29 billion) and each stadium has reportedly cost in the range of $6.5 billion (£5.47 billion) and $10 billion (£8.42 billion).
