In a bizarre turn of events, a young man is now fighting for his life in hospital after accidentally getting buried alive.
Josh Taylor, 25, is being comforted by his family in a Woolloongabba, Australia, hospital after an accident.
On Saturday around 2pm local time, the young man ended up being buried by sand on Bribie Island, north of Brisbane, after he stumbled into a hole.

Witnesses and friends attempted to pull him out and save him to no avail for almost an hour.
“We just started digging, digging, digging,” a witness, introduced as Nathan, told 7 News.
“I ran down to the car and said bro you are going to have to get out of this car. You have got to get out and help us dig, we have got to get this fella out. They had dug the hole to cook a pig in.”

Speaking of what he saw, Nathan continued: “He stood up off the chair, the sand had given way a little bit underneath him and yeah he stumbled back.
“He put his hands out to obviously break the fall and he continued going down and knocked sand in as he had put his hands out.
“He was that deep in the hole that you could not see him, his feet, unless you were standing over the top of the hole.
“All of his family, were screaming at us, telling us to help, telling us to get rope so we could pull him out. It was pretty gruesome.

“There was like 15 fully grown men on the end of this rope and he still would not budge.
“That is when the paramedic arrived and said pull him this way, he is going to come and then the suction gave way and he popped out."
In a horrifying moment for Taylor’s family, the young man appeared to not have a pulse, resulting in multiple rescuers attempting CPR.

He eventually showed signs of life and was promptly taken to hospital via helicopter.
“The fact that they have got a return of pulse on this young man after an extended period of CPR, is evidence that good CPR was being done, it's a credit to those people who got in and helped with their first aid,” Nathan said.
He added that he really hopes Taylor pulls through and hopes the family is being supported.
