The family of a missing teenage boy in Australia have shared a new theory of what they think happened in the lead up to his sudden disappearance.
16-year-old Krishank Karthik, better known by his nearest and dearest as Krish, has not been seen since Monday (5 August).
The teen left his Melbourne, Australia home around 7.45am but failed to make it home from school in the afternoon.

Krish did not make it to school that day. In fact, the teen's friends informed his mother Krish had not been present at school for weeks.
The shocked mother subsequently went to the police to report her son missing and an investigation has been ongoing ever since.
CCTV footage from Krish's house shows the teen walking out of the front door, though he doesn't exactly look ready for school.

Instead, the teen held a small suitcase and some clothes, but that isn't the last we've seen of Krish.
Police captured him on CCTV at 5.00am local time on Tuesday (6 August) at a crisis accommodation building in Sydney.
Earlier on Monday, Krish sold his phone and switched his travel card so he could not be tracked by local authorities.
The teen was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, black pants, black shoes and black pair of Armani glasses.

His mother, Shobana Karthik, has since shared a theory surrounding his disappearance.
She told 7News: "I’ve realized he’s not running away from his family, there’s something else bothering him.
“We found out on Tuesday that he had a girlfriend and they broke up on Friday, and we have given all those chat messages to the police.”

Despite all the worries, Karthik has faith her son will return home on his own soon.
“As a mum it’s really hard, but I’m trying to think from Krishan’s perspective,” she added.
His aunty Mathangi Akhilesh also told the outlet how Krish is a 'brilliant kid' who had been doing well at school, so his sudden disappearance has come as a massive shock to the whole family.
“We’ve spoken to his friends, they have been helping us with the investigation, and nothing, nothing unusual,” Akhilesh told 7News.
