A man opened fire in a courtroom during the trial of the person who allegedly killed his father.

However, the trial was interrupted when Alves' 27-year-old Cristiano Alves Terto drew a gun and began to fire at De Moura, the moment caught on CCTV footage from inside the courtroom which was released earlier this week.
De Moura allegedly confessed to fatally shooting Alves. In his confession, he's reported as saying he was out searching for a donkey which had gotten lost from his farm when he ended up bumping into Alves.
According to De Moura, he asked Alves if he'd spotted the donkey, to which Alves allegedly replied: "Get off my property you filthy little thief."

De Moura claims an argument then broke out which saw Alves pick up a wooden stick and come towards him so he drew his gun and fired a warning shot into the air.
However, he alleges Alves kept walking towards him, so he fired another shot into the ground and then a third shot at him.
Alves was rushed to hospital, but died just over two weeks later from his injuries.
Despite fleeing to Salgueiro, De Moura was later found and arrested and his trial took place in November 2023, however, it ended up being interrupted.

On 29 November, Terto was one of the attendees at De Moura's trial.
During the proceedings, Alves' son drew a gun and shot at De Moura six times - the moment caught on CCTV.
The footage shows the moment Terto stands up from the seating area at the back of the courtroom and despite another person's best attempts to tackle him, runs towards De Moura.

Terto then aims at his father's alleged killer, reportedly shooting at him six times, before chasing him behind the front desk, striking him with the gun three times before he's dragged out of the room.
At the end of the clip, De Moura can be seen slowly getting up from the floor and he is reported as having then been taken to hospital.
The Tribunal de Justiça de Pernambuco told local Brazilian outlet G1 De Moura survived the shooting. It added the jury has not yet reconvened nor a new trial date assigned.
Terto was remanded in prison the day after the courtroom incident.
