Colombian singer Greeicy has opened up about how when she gave birth to her first child over two years ago, her doctor allegedly gave her 'some extra stitches'.
Greeicy - full name Greeicy Yeliana Rendón Ceballos - and Mike Bahía announced they were expecting their first child together in December, 2021 via a collaboration song called 'Att: Amor'.

The 32-year-old gave birth the following year, however, she has since taken to her TikTok to open up about her experience of a natural birth, saying she ended up experiencing something known as the 'husband stitch'.
In a video shared April 1, the singer sat talking to the camera explaining: "Normally when a woman has a natural birth it can be that due to the natural process you might tear. Sometimes they cut you to make the exit easier, sometimes it tears naturally.

She explained she 'tore naturally' and so they 'stitch you up'. However, Greeicy says she was 'given some extra stitches' and 'ended up tight'.

The singer continued: "We tried for two years to have sex and it wasn't happening. It didn't go in. I was supposed to go have a surgery to cut it. We never went cause we were too busy but we kept trying and eventually it happened. Like when you try on a shoe a lot and it finally goes in.
"I realized that they benefited him - because of course, it's nicer when its tight, for him, but for me? It hurts even more. Not only did I give birth but he got a reward."
But why is this known as the 'husband stitch'?
Well, Healthline explains: "A husband stitch, or daddy stitch, is an extra stitch given during the repair process, known as an episiotomy, following a vaginal birth. The extra stitch supposedly tightens the vagina to increase sexual pleasure for a male partner."

And sadly Greeicy isn't the only woman to have gone through the process and received unwanted extra stitches, Healthline documenting a case of a mom who found out she'd also been given the so-called 'husband stitch'.
A woman named Sarah Harkins gave birth to a child naturally in 2005 and Healthline reports her doctor told her husband shortly after while she was still 'out of it physically, emotionally and mentally': "Yeah, let’s go ahead and add in another stitch so we can make sure this is nice and tight."
Healthline resolves the extra stitching is completely medically unnecessary and unethical, stating: "The husband stitch has a long, complicated, and problematic history, and is now considered medical malpractice."
