Container showing how much oil Kuwait produces every second is leaving people shocked

A viral video has shown how much oil Kuwait produces every second and people can't quite believe their eyes.

As a result of the war taking place in Ukraine, much of the world realised how much me rely on Russia for the likes of gas and oil.

And since the devastating war commenced in 2022, the prices of such have risen rapidly across the globe.

These astonishingly high prices have been passed on to the consumer, with many of us seeing a hike in bills.

Well, another supplier a lot of countries use for gas and oil is the Middle Eastern nation of Kuwait.

The country produces a whopping 3.15 million barrels of oil per day, making Kuwait the tenth largest oil producer in the world.

As a member of the OPEC consortium, oil accounts for around 95 percent of the country's exports, and approximately 90 percent of government export revenue.

Kuwait holds 7 percent of global oil reserves, allowing it to achieve the impressive amount of barrels on a daily basis.

The country’s oil sector is run by the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), which is a state-owned enterprise in the country.

Upstream operations are primarily done by Kuwait Oil Company, while the downstream operations are done by Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC).

And as for Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), they are the largest state-owned oil company in Kuwait by revenue and responsible for the impressive oil production.

With all that out of the way, a viral video shows what this massive amount of oil produced actually looks like.

In a video doing the rounds on TikTok, an installation visualises exactly how much oil Kuwait produces every second.

Almost instantly, the container is filled in its entirety, putting into perspective how much oil is produced by the Middle Eastern country.

"I would say awesome, but oil is bad," one person commented.

"What a waste of time and effort just to mess with the ancient planet and then put that poison into the air," a third remarked, while a fourth quipped: "That’s why they rich."

Kuwait’s oil industry is a major driver of its economy, allowing it to become one of the richest nations on the planet.

While Kuwait’s oil production has been relatively stable in recent years, it's expected to decline in the years ahead as the country's oil reserves are depleted.
