A woman has lost her $800k disability case after a photo emerged of her winning a tree-throwing contest.
Thankfully, in many countries when a person is unable to work due to disability there are safety nets in place such as social security payments.
However, a woman in Ireland had her disability case thrown out by a judge after a resurfaced photo of her competing in a tree-throwing contest emerged.

Kamila Grabska, 36, said she was left with a ‘disabling’ condition after an accident in February 2017.
She was involved in a car accident where someone hit her vehicle from the rear. She went on to sue RSA Insurance and claimed that she could not work for over five years, carry her young children or do basic chores around the house due to back and neck pain.
After the accident, Grabska ended up quitting her job and receiving disability payments. She argued that her previous and future lost income added to over $500,000.

However, the Irish High Court was shown a picture that ultimately contributed to her case being thrown out.
Grabska has denied claims she faked or exaggerated injuries.
She was seen hurling a Christmas tree on January 8, 2018 as part of a competition. In fact, she even went on to win the competition.
Grabska said while it does appear that she looks happy in the pictures in the charity event, she is still enduring pain to this day.

The judge wasn’t having it, though.
“It is a very large, natural Christmas tree and it is being thrown by her in a very agile movement. I’m afraid I cannot but conclude the claims were entirely exaggerated. On that basis, I propose to dismiss the claim,” Judge Carmel Stewart said.
During the hearing, footage was also shown of Grabska training her large dog for over an hour in a park.

She had said that during her recovery, there were times when her husband had to bring medication to her bed as she couldn’t leave due to the agonizing pain.
She also said she suffered from shooting pains if she attempted to lift a heavy bag.
Grabska has continued to deny that she had faked the severity of her injuries and told the court she was simply ‘trying to live a normal life.’
The judge dismissed this and said her activities following the crash were ‘completely at odds’ with the medical evidence she gave.
