President Joe Biden has called the ‘MAGA crowd’ the most ‘extreme political organisation’ in recent United States history in light of recent conservative attempts to outlaw abortion.
Speaking to reporters outside the White House on Wednesday (May 5), Biden took aim at the ‘Make America Great Again’ political supporters.
“This MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history, in recent American history," he said.

Biden also reiterated his concerns about a leaked draft from the Supreme Court that indicated they had voted to overturn Roe v Wade.
If the overturn is made, that would mean 26 US states could immediately ban abortion or greatly restrict it.
Politico reported the leak on Monday (May 2), which is the first time in modern history that a ruling has been leaked before the court issued it publicly.

When speaking to reporters Biden explained that this decision was ‘about a lot more than abortion’, and questioned ‘the next things that are going to be attacked’.
He said: “What happens if you have states change the law saying that children who are LGBTQ can't be in classrooms with other children. Is that legit under the way the decision is written?"
On Tuesday (May 3), Biden outlined that his Administration would be ready to challenge any ruling that is issued.
He said: “If this decision holds, it's really quite a radical decision.”

Biden also labelled the Republican Party’s economic philosophy as ‘extreme’.
He referenced Senator Rick Scott’s ‘11 Point Plan to Rescue America’, which proposed raising income taxes on low-income Americans - however, the campaign document was quickly rejected by fellow Republicans.
Biden said the Democratic economic plan was ‘in sharp contrast to what today’s Republican Party is offering — and if they hadn’t put this in print, you’d think I was making it up.”

He continued: “Senator Rick Scott of Florida … released what he calls the ultra-MAGA agenda. It’s a MAGA agenda all right.
“Let me tell you about this ultra-MAGA agenda. It’s extreme, as most MAGA things are.”
In recent months, Republican-controlled states have legislated several culturally-dividing laws such as targeting transgender rights and, as referenced, restricting abortion access.
Speaking to reporters in Seattle earlier this month, Biden said: “This is the MAGA party now. … These guys are a different breed of cat.

“They’re not like what I served with for so many years. And the people who know better are afraid to act correctly because they know they’ll be primaried.”
