An AI program has terrified the internet with its disturbing imagining of what our last selfies on Earth will look like, and we are honestly shook.
The chilling selfies were made by the DALL-E 2 AI system when it was asked to display 'the last selfie ever taken'.
The images went viral after they were posted to the TikTok account @robotoverloards, where they have been viewed a whopping 12.7 million times at the time of writing.

Viewers subsequently took to the comments section to express their horror at the images, which depicted a post-apocalyptic future.
"That's exactly how its going to be [sic]," wrote one viewer.

A second joked: "I'm gonna send this to my brother at 3 am maybe send it to some of my friends aswell [sic]."
"Thanks definitely won't be sleeping tonight [sic]," wrote a third, while a fourth remarked: "I don't believe ai did this on its own its too much imagination [sic]."
The program presented a few options for the last selfie ever taken.
The first featured a skeletal person looking into the camera with a wasteland behind them, and in the background, something fiery appeared to be falling from the sky.

In this image, it looked like the majority of civilisation had already been obliterated.
Another one of the selfies showed a man standing in front of what could either be interpreted as an alien invasion or the aftermath of a nuclear bomb.
Clearly, he's tried his best to survive in some way, and while his face has more flesh than the figure in the first selfie, it's still bloodied, bloated and it looks like he's only barely holding onto life.

As for the other images, well, we won't spoil them for you - if you're brave enough to click on the video above, you can check them out for yourself.
The TikTok account also features a number of other questions being presented to the AI, including more end of the world selfies and even cursed drawings made by kids...
The website behind the the AI states that the program, which was just developed this year, has the ability to 'create realistic images and art' based on descriptions.

"DALL-E 2 has learned the relationship between images and the text used to describe them," the website reads. "It uses a process called 'diffusion', which starts with a pattern of random dots and gradually alters that pattern towards an image when it recognises specific aspects of that image."
