A Cybertruck owner has warned others about a 'serious problem' with the vehicle that could have caused him to crash.
Posting a video on his TikTok page (@el.chepito1985) Cybertruck owner Elai claimed while he was driving the car, the pedal cover managed to slide off the accelerator and get snagged on the carpet.
This meant it was allegedly locked in place full throttle and he had to think quickly to prevent a serious accident.

Elai explained that thankfully he did not panic and was able to remain calm, firmly pressing down on the brake to nullify the accelerator.
However, he did say it did put him in a uncomfortable predicament as the car would begin to rev up again, if he eased off the brake a little.
He then stopped the car and put it in park and got out to assess what the actual problem was.

In the video, Elai shows that seemingly due to the shape of the vehicle around the accelerator, after the cover comes off it easily gets wedged into the carpet.
In a follow-up video, he shows that there are two little clips holding the cover on but 'after enough pressure, it slides up' and gets stuck 'all the way to the floor'.
The TikTok has begun to spread on social media platforms, racking up over one million views, with many people weighing in on the complaints from the Cybertruck owner.

“Cybertruck is a deathtrap man,” one user wrote.
“What an absolute nightmare of a vehicle. I’ve never seen more videos of a brand new car that died on the first day lmao,” another added.
While a third said: “Hopefully the crew at Tesla can hone in on these stop gaps and fix the problem. Don't know why/how it could come off, given it is metal."
And someone else commented: "That's so scary."

While many were more than a little concerned about the apparent issue that could effected other Cybertruck owners, others certainly found the funny side.
“I’m convinced the cyber truck is just a social experiment to see if people will buy certain things just because they can,” joked one user.
“So how many other problems does the cyber truck have? At this point it's easier to point out things that are working correctly,” another added.

The car manufacturer has yet to respond to this.
