GTA 5 released nearly ten years ago - yep, I know - so it is about time we got GTA 6 in our hands, don't you think?
The fifth mainline instalment in the Rockstar Games' series was a massive game, with many still playing its online mode to this day.
Despite that, millions of gamers are eagerly awaiting any news on GTA 6, which as of now, still does not have a trailer or a release date.

In fact, the developers have actually not even called it GTA 6 yet, only going far as saying that they are 'pleased to confirm that active development of the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well under way' in February last year.
Whatever it will be called - though, it will 99 percent certain it will be called GTA 6 - the game is for sure going to cost a lot of money to make.
Back when GTA 5 released in September 2013, it was estimated that the total cost to make it from start to finish came in at around the $265 million mark, which is obviously an eye-watering amount.

However, the total cost for GTA 6 is set to blow that out the water if recent reports are to be believed.
As Gamerficial reports, GTA YouTuber INTER recently said that GTA 6 could cost around $1 billion in total if you take into account marketing cost. Woah.
They added that the budget for the game's development alone could be at least $250 million.
However, the total budget may be even higher, as a previous leak suggested the game's budget could actually be closer to $2 billion.

If either of these reports are correct, then GTA 6 will be the most expensive game ever and by some distance, too.
Currently, the world's most expensive video game is crowdfunded title Star Citizen, which has accumulated around half a billion dollars since 2012.
So when can we expect to see more concrete information about the world's most expensive game?

Well, in March, a reliable Rockstar Games insider and leaker said an announcement for GTA 6 looks to be coming a lot sooner than we think.
In a post on the GTA forums, leaker Tez2 said that Rockstar could be preparing to update excited fans about the progress of GTA 6 this summer.
"I feel like the next time we could receive some news or an update is around June or July. Likely the latter," he said.
"If Rockstar were to tease anything GTA6 related within GTA Online around September or October, it has to be included with the Summer update. And Rockstar is very aware of us dataminers."
