Apple users are flocking to social media over an iPhone keyboard button 'no one's ever used'.

As someone who called GIFs 'moving memes' for about two years, I'm a bit of a technology grandma and not too fussed by the latest trends or hacks, but if you are into all that, then there's another 'secret' button you've probably never realised you can access on your iPhone's keyboard.

If you'd already discovered the charging life hack which left other iPhone users in disbelief and made your way through all of the game-changing tips of a former Apple employee, then fear not, there is always more to be discovered when it comes to navigating the rectangle of metals and chemicals which is forever glued to most people's hands.

X account Today Years Old took to social media last month to reveal the keyboard button which it claims 'no one's ever used'.

The button can be accessed by going onto your keyboard, clicking the '123' button to take you to the numbers and punctuation section and then pressing down on the button with the full stop on it.

The result? The option to add an ellipsis '...' opposed to just a single '.' AKA a full stop.

And it's not taken long for people to flood to the comments of the post to weigh in.

Ever wanted to use an ellipsis without tapping on the full stop button three times? Well, your luck is in my friend. (X/@todayyearsoldig)

But not all users are convinced, some reactions shocked and others just plain sarcastic.

One X user said: "Wait what."

Another added: "I just found out this exists, what!"

A third commented: "NO WAY."

"S**ttt... I Use It Every Damn Day," a fourth wrote.

And a fifth said: "..."

Someone else commented: "Yeah, that's so much easier than clicking . three times. Submenus are just giant time savers like that."

Technically, the hack does save a click - taking four presses opposed to just three if you were to manually add three dots opposed to finding this now-not-so-secret button.

However, if you're using an ellipsis in the first place for dramatic, or even sarcastic effect, chances are you may enjoy the process of physically adding a dot, dot, dot yourself - for the drama, of course. What do you think?

Oh and if that hack wasn't enough for you, another user decided to get creative and start pressing on more buttons, revealing even more 'secret' options including quotation marks and even a degrees symbol. Handy, huh?
