When you go to a car dealership, the last thing you expect to see is people thrashing a baseball bat at the vehicles... but the results kind of surprised everyone.
Elon Musk has long praised his Tesla Cybertruck and its durability. However, this hasn’t always worked out in his favor.
Back in 2019 when the car was debuted, the billionaire’s actions resulted in quite an awkward moment.

He boasted the car’s window were shatterproof and decided to prove it during the demo.
The Cybertruck is designed to have the ‘utility of a truck with sports car performance’, having been built to be ‘durable, versatile, capable and high-performance', according to its creators.
"You want a truck that's really tough, not fake tough,” Musk said at the time.

"You want a truck you can take a sledgehammer to, a truck that won't scratch, doesn't dent."
But when Tesla design chief Franz von Holzhausen launched a steel ball at the car, he actually ended up breaking two windows.
Well, years later, Musk has shared a clip he likely hopes will convince the non-believers of the cars durability.
The footage shows a bunch of people taking a baseball bat to a Cybertruck while at the Vegas Auto Gallery. Take a look:
After multiple hard swings to the car’s body, there appears to be no clear damage or even a dent.

The bat is even handed over to another person who tries to dent the car only for the bat itself to bend, much to their surprise.
Sharing the viral clip, Musk said: "Cybertruck is built bullet-tough."
Social media users also admitted to being quite impressed.
“Looks like the Cybertruck is tougher than we thought! That bat didn't stand a chance,” wrote one user on X.

“A futile attempt to challenge the Cybertrucks durability. It seems even a baseball bat couldnt make a dent in that armored beast. Quite a spectacle of engineering resilience,” another added.
“I think it’s becoming pretty obvious why the EV endeavors of other companies are falling flat on their faces…,” a third wrote.
“Even if the hits dented the truck, it is still amazing. Too bad they didn't show the dents close up,”added another.

So yeah, the truck appears pretty durable but many users did note that the video doesn’t end with a closeup of the vehicle, so it's possible there were scratches and small dents.
All the same, somewhat impressive.
