Tesla owners are appearing to be targeted by random people after Elon Musk's latest string of controversies.
The Tesla CEO has sparked global outrage, particularly in Europe, after twice making a gesture which was likened to a 'Nazi salute' at Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20.
Elon Musk has also been vocal in his support for extreme right-wing political party Alternative for Germany (AfD).

Last weekend, the world's richest men virtually attended an election rally for the party and gave a speech which resulted in a Polish minister calling for a Tesla boycott.
Musk claimed the country 'focuses too much on past guilt' which is something that needs to be 'moved past' - a sentiment echoed by AfD members in a so-called attempt to 'bury' the country's Nazi past.
Musk also faced criticism from car-maker rivals after claiming AfD is the country's 'only savior.' Musk, who was born and raised in South Africa, currently resides in the US.

And it seems Tesla owners have been taking some of the heat aimed at Musk in recent weeks, with people shocked to find notes and drawings left on their vehicles.
Taking to X, the social media platform Musk bought in 2023, one person posted a photo showing the phrase 'Nazi' etched into the side of a Cybertruck.
"Own a Tesla? Might want to reconsider," the X user posted. "Someone graffitied this on a Cybertruck, after Musk did the Nazi salute."
Over on a Cybertruck Owners Facebook forum, one man shared a photo of what appeared to be the word 'Nazi' written on the inside of a ramen lid and slotted into his door frame.
"Got my first one today..." the owner wrote.

Elsewhere on the forum, other people shared their own similar experiences.
A second person shared a photo of curse words and phallic-shaped objects drawn in the dirt of their truck, as they vented: “The hate is real… smh.
“This is what I came out to, I was just at a casino, having a good time lol.”

“An older man drew a swastika in the dirt on mine then spit on it. I just don’t get the hate," another said, while another shared how he 'always gets flipped off' when driving his Cybertruck.
Meanwhile, after Musk came under fire for his gesture at Trump's inauguration, others took to Reddit to vent how they felt 'stuck' with their Teslas and vowed never to purchase another one.
