Elon Musk has revealed plans to 'ban' Apple devices at his companies if it decides to introduce a specific feature.

Rumors have been swirling about Apple's latest iOS update for several months, with one potential feature dubbed as potentially being 'the best iPhone update in years'.

And yesterday (10 June), Apple announced some of the official features iPhone users can expect and Tesla and Space X CEO Musk has taken to X to weigh in.

The latest iOS 18 update has seen Apple introduce a series of features which utilize the power of artificial intelligence.

Apple's announcement states: "Apple is integrating ChatGPT access into experiences within iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, allowing users to access its expertise - as well as its image - and document-understanding capabilities - without needing to jump between tools."

Not only will the newly developed 'Apple Intelligence' aid in creating 'a movie with its own narrative arc' from Memories in Photos, but 'a new Clean Up tool can identify and remove distracting objects in the background of a photo'.

Apple Intelligence will also see Siri 'take a major step forward' becoming 'even more natural, contextually relevant and personal' and 'with brand-new systemwide Writing Tools built into iOS 18, users can rewrite, proofread, and summarise text nearly everywhere they write, including Mail, Notes, Pages, and third-party apps'.

Within its announcement of Apple Intelligence and its introduction of ChatGPT, the company notes: "Privacy protections are built in for users who access ChatGPT - their IP addresses are obscured, and OpenAI won’t store requests. ChatGPT’s data-use policies apply for users who choose to connect their account."

For those of you who are technology grandmas like me, ChapGPT is fully owned and controlled by OpenAI - an American artificial intelligence research organization.

And despite Apple's reassurance, Musk has a warning for Apple if it decides to take its use of OpenAI any further.

Taking to X yesterday, Musk tweeted: "If Apple integrates OpenAI at the OS level, then Apple devices will be banned at my companies. That is an unacceptable security violation.

"And visitors will have to check their Apple devices at the door, where they will be stored in a Faraday cage."

And it didn't take long for people to flood to the post to weigh in, many suggesting: "I think it's time for you to make a Tesla phone Elon."

What do you think?
