As each iPhone generation is released, its capabilities increase.

Typically each new edition of the iPhone is debuted in September of each year, with 2023 marking the release of the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and the 15 Pro Max.

The smartphones boast a series of new features, including a new 'action' button on the Pro that replaces the old ring/silent switch.

"You can choose which function you want the Action button to perform when you press it," Apple says of the new design. "Because the button is so accessible, it’s useful for actions you perform often."

It adds: "It’s easy to change the action when you decide you want to use it for a different function."

But there's one key feature that's really got people talking - and that's the new USB-C port.

Including its iPhone 15 models, all Apple products will have USB-C ports from here on out, replacing the controversial lightning cable and port.

It's thought the tech powerhouse changed the ports through gritted teeth as the European Union changed its regulations.

The European Council ruled that all new smartphones, tablets, cameras and other electronic gadgets marketed in the EU will have to come with a USB-C charging port by fall 2024.

Obviously Europe is a huge market for Apple, so the company had to follow the new rules to continue selling its products in the continent.

There are dozens of things you can do with the iPhone 15's new USB-C port - but there's one hack that you might be unaware of.

While Apple is yet to introduce wireless USB-C charging, you can charge your devices if you've got a cable handy. For example you could charge your AirPods using your phone, or Apple Watch MagSafe charger.

You can also charge other phones with your phone on the basis that it has a USB-C port as well (i.e other iPhone 15s).

In a now-viral tweet, one Apple customer demonstrated this being done and it's blown people's minds.

The post has been viewed nearly five million times.

"PSA: you can charge an iPhone from another iPhone," X user Sheel Mohnot penned.

"That's how you show somebody that you really love them," one person quipped in response.

"Can also charge your laptop same principle - saved me a few times," noted another.

Sharing their surprise, someone else said: "Wait...what?"

"Whoa. Nifty. That’s in ‘press and hold spacebar to insert the cursor’ territory of cool," a different person raved.

Happy charging, folks!
