Tesla owner reveals genius way he managed to cut back on electric costs after sharing six month bill

Electric vehicles are renowned for being a cheaper alternative to fossil fuel cars

A Tesla owner opened up on just how money-saving electric vehicles can be.

A lot of people in recent years have opted to purchase an electric car in a bid to prevent causing further damage to our planet through global warming.

But the planet isn't the only thing you can save; you can save a heck of a lot of cash too.

Telsa owners often brag about how much money they've saved since ditching their fuel powered cars. For example, one guy said that he saves as much as $200 a month on fuel since getting one of the popular EVs.

He added that he hadn't seen that much difference in his electricity bill either, despite the fact he mainly charges his Tesla at home.

And he's not the only Tesla owner to reveal the copious amounts of cash they've saved since investing in one of the cars.

Last year, Tesla driver Bilal Sattar took to Twitter to share some statistics in relation to his car.

He wrote at the time: "Six months and roughly 10k miles I've spent only $573 to charge. An equivalent gas car at $4/gallon would have cost roughly $2,400."

The screenshot he shared came from the Tesla app which offers a handy comparison between electric and fuel.

With these figures in mind, Bilal will have saved around $1,800. Impressive!

Bilal went on to share how he managed to save as much cash as possible by taking full advantage of any location that offer free charging — stores like Walmart and Target, for example.

I mean, everyone likes a freebie.

As well as this, Bilal urged fellow EV drivers to limit their use of supercharges are they're more expensive that charging from home.

Then, for optimal savings, Bilal says he has solar panels installed at home.

"The energy for my car comes from my solar panels," he shared with one fellow Twitter user that replied to his post

Others also took the opportunity to gush about the money they have saved since going electric.

Someone told Bilal: "Same I also have Tesla Model 3. I have also saved much by switching to EV rather than on Gas!"

"7 years in, I've saved thousands," said another.

Sharing screenshots of their own savings, someone else said of the $5,290 they've allegedly saved on gas: "I have my Tesla Y since last year and accumulated 58,000 kms and here is my savings. I charged at home while I sleep too and rarely use a Supercharger!"
