It would've been more cool if he wasn't a billionaire, but the footage is still 'gorgeous'

A SpaceX mission has been completed 'marking the first time commercial astronauts have completed a spacewalk from a commercial spacecraft'.

On Tuesday (September 10), SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket was launched into space for a five-day flight after being delayed from August.

Earlier today, it was revealed it's Polaris Dawn spacewalk mission was successfully completed with billionaire Jared Isaacman becoming the first person to take part in a private spacewalk. Take a peep below, because unless you're a billionaire, you'll probably never get to experience the real thing:

Isaacman - a pilot and founder of American payment processing company Shift4 - was joined by retired US Air Force lieutenant colonel and mission pilot Scott Poteet and SpaceX senior engineers Sarah Gillis Anna Menon.

The quartet were conducting a mission called the Polaris Dawn with the aim of testing out a new series of slimmer spacesuits alongside the 'first time four humans [have been] simultaneously exposed to the vacuum of space' coming out of a capsule with no safety airlock too.

And footage shows the moment the spacecraft's Dragon capsule reached its destination of 738km alongside Isaacman stepping outside.

As the capsule comes to a standstill, Isaacman says: "SpaceX, back at home we all have a lot of work to do, but from here, Earth sure looks like a perfect world."

And then the camera changes to show the view of Isaacman emerging out of the capsule, an umbilical hose out behind him attaching him to life support systems onboard.

He can be heard saying: "It's gorgeous."

Testing out the new spacesuit, he continues: "The handsfree demonstration is very comparable to the trainer, in terms of the foot restraint."

Isaacman was followed my mission specialist Gillis who conducted the same series of suit mobility tests that not only tested handsfree movement and foot restraint but 'overall hand body control' and 'vertical movement' too.

After the commercial astronauts were safely back inside the capsule, SpaceX confirmed in a post to Twitter: "The Polaris Dawn spacewalk is now complete, marking the first time commercial astronauts have completed a spacewalk from a commercial spacecraft! Congratulations to @rookisaacman, @Gillis_SarahE, @KiddPoteet, @annawmenon, and to all the SpaceX teams!"

When completing his spacewalk, Isaacman resolved: "Whatever risk is associated with it, it is worth it.

"I wasn't alive when humans walked on the moon. I'd certainly like my kids to see humans walking on the moon and Mars, and venturing out and exploring our solar system."
