The 'world’s most advanced' robot behaves exactly like a human in an incredibly creepy video that has left people divided.
Named 'Ameca', the high-tech piece of kit uses the exact same technology as OpenAI’s ChatGPT bot, and is able to complete a whole host of tasks including showing off its impressive multi-lingual skills.
Check it out but, be warned, it's pretty disturbing:
Developed by the UK's leading designer and manufacturer of humanoid entertainment robots, Engineered Arts, Ameca is the 'future face of robotics'.

The company's official site reads: "Designed specifically as a platform for development into future robotics technologies, Ameca is the perfect humanoid robot platform for human-robot interaction."
Ameca is able to show-off such hyper-realistic facial expressions due to the 17 different motors working inside her head.
A clip showcasing Ameca's super-human translator abilities was uploaded to YouTube last week (6 April).
In the short video, an off-screen researcher can be heard asking the robot: "Hello Ameca, I've heard you can speak a lot of different languages.

"Is that true?"
In typical human fashion, the robot takes a pause before looking up and to the left before it answeres: "Yes. That is true."
While blinking, Ameca continues: "I can speak German, English, French, Japanese, Chinese and much more."

The researcher then asks the robot to prove its language fluency by asking it a whole array of different questions.
From reciting a 'tongue twister in Japanese' to explaining 'what the weather is like today in Berlin' using German, as well as providing the forecast for Paris, Beijing and New York all in the corresponding accents and languages.
Unsurprisingly, the AI robot passed all the tests with no slip-ups whatsoever.
The eerie clip has already received over 176,000 views with a whole avalanche of people eager to share their reactions to Ameca.

Many were totally in awe of how human-like the robot was, with one YouTube user commenting: "I love the little detail of her looking up when she's processing, like humans do!"
"I love how instead of immediately saying it, it looks like Ameca is thinking!" a second chimed in. "The insane amount of detail is crazy!"
A third called the technological breakthrough 'stunning', before revealing: "I've been waiting all of my adult life to see a humanoid robot like Ameca become a reality!"

Others, however, were pretty freaked out by the 'humanoid' uncanniness.
"We are basically digging our own grave," claimed one viewer.
A second sarcastically penned: "How could this possibly go wrong?"
"This technology could be dangerous in the future if the robot's decide they don't like their creators," pointed out another.
A final user pretty much summed up the whole thing in a single sentence: "This is amazing and scary at the same time."
It sure is.
