Officially available in the UK today from mi.com, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 could be the solution for those who want their device to offer flagship-level specs without breaking the bank.
It’s a commitment, choosing the device that’s going to pretty much run your life for the next few years. There’s a lot to get your head around, and that’s before we’ve even mentioned the cost of today’s newest launches.
The good news is, it doesn’t have to be like this.
As the third largest phone manufacturer globally behind Apple and Samsung, Xiaomi has been making waves in recent years for its commitment to producing slick, stylish devices with flagship features at ‘honest prices’ that leave you with plenty left over to spend on the stuff that actually matters, whether that’s the next weekend getaway or your bigger life goals.
Xiaomi’s Redmi range has this down to a T, and the line has become a cult favourite since launching, with over 240 million Redmi Note devices and counting sold worldwide.
For a phone available at a budget value, reviewers have been impressed with what the Redmi Note 11 has to offer, with Tech Advisor’s recent 4-star review bagging Xiaomi’s ‘classy yet affordable effort’ its coveted Recommended Award.
Whether you’re into pouring over the specs or just want a phone that looks good and isn’t going to suddenly start draining battery within six months, or even if you’ve been thinking about switching things up with your next upgrade, it could be time to finally take a deep breath and step beyond Apple and Samsung.
The mid-range Redmi Note 11 can do everything you’d expect from your daily driver, and even comes with a few extra features that tech fans will appreciate. And with the device starting from just £199, it does all that for a fraction of the price of the high end Apple and Samsung phones that currently dominate the market.
The Redmi Note 11’s 6.43in form factor is slightly bigger than the baseline models of the iPhone 13 and recently launched Samsung Galaxy S22, both of which feature 6.1in displays. But unlike Apple’s latest flagship, the Note 11 does come with the superior FHD+ AMOLED display, as well as a 90Hz refresh rate, which should make for smoother scrolling than the standard iPhone 13, which is limited to 60Hz.
If you’re the type of person that’s constantly looking for the next adventure, the last thing you need to be worrying about is whether your phone is going to survive the journey. Thankfully, the Redmi Note 11 is well equipped to come along for the ride, with a Gorilla Glass screen resistant to the scrapes, bumps and drops that inevitably occur along the way, as well as IP53 certification for dust and splash protection.
The Redmi Note 11 also comes with 33W Pro fast-charging capabilities, which Xiaomi says should get you from 0 to 100% juice in around an hour. So no need to worry about missing those epic views or hilarious moments with your mates because of a dead battery.
Speaking of epic views, the Redmi Note 11 comes with a camera it promises can deliver a ‘flagship experience.’ Using Samsung sensor technology, the 50MP quad lens setup gives you those Insta-ready shots without you having to watch two hours of YouTube tutorials to figure out the different features before you can start snapping. On the front, there’s also a 13MP hole-punch camera which promises to capture ‘clear, natural-looking selfies.’
Most of us would never admit it, but we all know how your phone looks can be just as important as what it does, and Xiaomi has options to suit all tastes. The sleek flat frame comes in three colours: Charcoal Gray, Twilight Blue and an iridescent ‘Star Blue’ that stands out in a crowd of space gray and titanium black.
The glossy hardware isn’t just there to look pretty - it houses dual ‘super linear’ speakers to ensure a surround sound experience whether you’re gaming or getting inspiration for the latest TikTok challenge, as well as biometric security features including a side fingerprint sensor and AI-powered face unlocking, Dual SIM and Micro SD slots, and, for the old-school, a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As the cheapest phone in the next-gen Redmi range, the Note 11 costs a full £500 less than Apple and Samsung’s lowest priced current gen devices, and is £400 cheaper than the Google Pixel 6. At under £200 it also competes with the mid-range offerings from other heavyweights like Samsung’s Galaxy A series.
With its sophisticated design and competitive specs, if you’re interested in affordability that doesn’t compromise on style or substance, the Redmi range has got you covered.
The Redmi Note 11 is now available to buy now from mi.com, Amazon and selected UK and Ireland retailers.
