Music fans have been left scratching their heads after a list placed TikTok star Addison Rae in the top 10 female singers of all time.
So, whatever you make of the online celebrity’s vocal chops, she’s hardly had the body of work to be considered as an all-timer just yet, has she?
After all, she’s only 22 years of age and has released a grand total of one single.

Yes, that’s one single – ‘Obsessed’ from back in 2021.
This isn’t to say that Rae can’t sing.
After all, it’s the singing and dancing that made her one of the most successful creators in TikTok, leading to a career in movies – she recently appeared in Netflix flick He’s All That.

That first single – by the way – didn’t actually crack into the Billboard Hot 100 at all, though it did soar to the heady heights of number 15 in Canada.
Still, that hasn’t stopped Addison appearing on the list when Barstool Sports announced their power rankings for the top 10 female singers of all time.
The list came out last year, and it’s fair to say that people weren’t too impressed with what they saw on there.
Rae was the big standout anomaly, as the list also included people like Adele, Beyonce and Mariah Carey.

OK, we can all have our debate on whether or not they merit their places on the list as well, but at least they’ve all had hugely successful careers and produced larger bodies of work than one single.
Rae isn’t the only weird name on the list, though.
JoJo is in third, behind Mariah and Whitney Houston, while Ashlee Simpson also makes an appearance, sparking further consternation.
Elsewhere, Lady Gaga, Aretha Franklin, and Tina Turner round out the list.

Of course, there’s a good chance that the people who compiled the list might have just been taking the p***, but if it was smoke they were looking for, they found it.
One person said: “This is the most troll list I’ve ever seen. Addison Rae? Really!?!? She made the list.
“No Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Ariana Grande!?!?
“And then you top it off with Mariah Carey at the top.

“Please tell me this list is a joke.”
Another person wrote: “The fact that Addison Rae and Ashlee Simpson got any scintilla of a mention here in lieu of Amy Lee, Dolores O’Riordan, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, and the like just goes to show how shallow Barstool’s brains are.
“This one is BAD.”
Believe it or not, these are two of the more generous contributions to the debate.
Anyway, perhaps Addison Rae will go on to have a musical career that eclipses any of the others on that list, or perhaps not.
We’ll just have to wait and see.
