Chelsea Handler is proudly a child-free woman, but a recent TikTok video touting her lifestyle has led to an online backlash.

The comedian, who is temporarily stepping in to take over from Trevor Noah as the host of The Daily Show, shared the controversial video earlier this week.

Entitled 'A Day In The Life Of A Childless Woman', the video is meant to be a parody of 'a day in the life' videos which have proven popular across the video sharing app.

In the video, the 47-year-old comedian shows herself going through her 'daily routine' as she narrates in a voice over (the video contains some strong language).

Handler says: "This is a day in the life of a childless woman. I wake up at 6am. I remember that I have no kids to take to school, so I take an edible, masturbate, and go back to sleep."

Continuing with her tongue in cheek narration, Handler said: "I wake up at 12:30pm and get ready for a busy day of doing whatever the f**k I feel like.

Handler then notes she will be wearing her 'most impractical and stylish shoes since I won’t be chasing a child around the grocery store'.

Taking the video to another satirical level, Handler shows herself against a green screen taking a 'flight to Paris', 'visiting Mount Everest' and even 'travelling back in time to kill Hitler'.

Handler bragged that her child free lifestyle allowed her more freedom.

Handler jokes: "I do a meditation sesh on the plane since I have no screaming kids, allowing me all the time in the world to become enlightened. The weightlessness of my existence has granted me superhuman powers."

Since being uploaded, the video has received more than 10 million views - all while dividing opinion amongst viewers.

Some applauded Handler for her inventive take on life as a childless woman, with one commenting: "If you’re a parent and this angered you, you have problems because this has nothing to do with people with children and secondly it’s a comedy skit.

"Why do people with children center themselves in everyone’s lives?"

Another remarked: "Baffling (but not surprising) that parents are responding to this with 'I WOULDN'T GIVE MY CHILD UP' when she never said that?

"Are we not allowed to be childless and REVEL in the peace and freedom it brings without this somehow being an attack on parents?"

Chelsea Handler is clearly loving her child-free life.

However, not everybody was Team Chelsea, with many conservative pundits taking aim at her.

Fox News writer Justin Hawkins tweeted: "Yes, you’re really living your best life, aren’t you. Just to be clear, because it apparently needs to be said by parents, I wouldn’t trade 10,000 of your supposedly carefree childless days in Paris and sleeping in until noon for one smile from my baby girl."

Anti-abortion activist Lila Rose simply responded: "This is really sad."

Responding to the backlash, Handler said in a follow-up video: "Why would I even need my own children when I get to hear these crybabies all the time?

"You guys seem so triggered by me."
